It is an attachment plate for cameras compatible with thin standards. It is used with a quick release panorama clamp.
Center of gravity is secured at vertical position
Conventionally, it was necessary to tilt the pan-head 90 degrees to change angle of the horizontally installed camera to the vertical position, where a center of gravity of the camera moves to an unstable position, consequently requiring an additional counterweight to stabilize this. The quick release angle plate allows you to keep the camera in a vertical position while maintaining the center of gravity, so you can always support the camera in a stable position while minimizing the amount of counterweights.
Horizontal position plate, longitudinal position plate
It is also possible to use one lateral position plate of the quick release angle plate alone. Astronomical telescope with 1/4 inch camera screw can be installed as well.
